It was known that 994 has already invested more than RM10 million into a Call Center system that covers 25 Call Center sites and are linked to over 250 sub-balai. This current system are able to provide voice recording as well as detailed statistic of each call and have been operating succesfully for the last 4 years. Why is that the current system costing so much has to be replaced by a new 999 system at Fire Department level? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to do an integration between the current 994 system with the new 999 system? If the 999 system are to replace the current 994 system, then aren't the 994 system becomes white elephant? Why tax payers have to pay for redundant new system? Integration of these both systems will save tons of tax payers monies...

Always read the fine print on credit card contracts. Sometimes they send notices in the mail of policy changes, I try to read those too. If however the card company is breaking the rules then it needs to be reported.

As far as I know, the minimum brokerage rate as of June 9, 2003 is as follows:

Retail trades valued above RM100,000 = 0.3% of contract value
Retail trades valued below Rm100,000 = 0.6% of contract value
Online retail trades (online trade) = up to 30% discount of minimum rate
Same day buy and sell trades = 0.15% of contract value

There is a minimum charge of RM12 per counter for investors buying low volume.

-------------------------------------------------------

Clearing fee is computed at 0.04% of the contract value. There is no minimum fee here.

-------------------------------------------------------

Stamp duty is calculated based on every RM1000 range, with a maximum of RM200.

-------------------------------------------------------

Total Commission & Fees = Brokerage Fee + Clearing Fee + Stamp Duty

sometimes we can't be too choosy, and should be satisfy with what we have.. this is not saying that we shouldn't improve ourself and aim for better, always remember what we can afford and what's beyond at the current state..
